RooT Fx was founded by Michael, a former professional athlete and bodyworker who struggled with pain and limited mobility. Through research and training with masters, he transformed his body and became more mobile than ever. Now, he uses that knowledge to help clients reclaim their lives and enjoy the activities they love.

JOIN A RootFx FOR beginners ONLINE CLASS

You've never encountered anything quite like RooT Fx, and we're thrilled to introduce it to you. Whether you're dealing with stiff joints, sore muscles, or aiming to enhance your strength without exacerbating any discomfort, you've landed in the perfect spot. 

 

Get started by registering for an introductory 90-minute beginners session. Class will include a consultation to find out your specific needs, history, etc. This beginners session will start you on your path to a custom RooT Fx training routine that addresses your body’s needs and fits your lifestyle.

At RooT Fx, we aim to provide numerous in-person opportunities for you to explore our mobility pathways. Whether it's a RooT Fx Tai Chi weekend, an Outdoor Training session with trail training, or even a RooT Fx seminar, these events offer a great introduction to our community.

I began to see how my body was not working together as a whole, and therefore, causing undo stress on the weaker parts while the stronger core was not engaging.  The isometric exercises I was doing were not connecting my body but rather just working individual parts.  It was like a light turned on.  So,  I continued with individual Root Fx classes and committed to performing the tension release exercises regularly, even though I did not have immediate relief.  It was like changing the course of a battleship, but each week I gained some momentum, and the pain began to lessen, my spine became more flexible, and my posture began to change.  As my awareness and understanding increased, I began to use my body better in daily activities.   Now, my neck, back and hips are pain free.  My body is resilient and strong.

THE 3 TRAINING METHODS OF RooT Fx

Tension Release Training

Tension Release Training(TRT) is a revolutionary way of exercising that releases muscle and joint tension while simultaneously increasing strength and range of motion. Tension Release Training is a way of exercising that teaches you to release tension in your joints and transform tight, rigid tissue into more functional tissue. We change your muscle tone by actively engaging tissue while consciously relaxing muscles and joints.

RooT Fx Mobility Training

RooT Fx Mobility Training is a life-changing tool that helps eliminate the source of tension and pain patterns in your body. Negative patterns can arise from repetitive use, poor posture habits developed over a lifetime, weak muscles that do not have the stamina to perform daily functions or a previous injury that is adversely affecting your body.

RooT Fx Strength Training

RooT Fx Strength Training(RST) is used to stabilize and strengthen weak muscles and stiff joints after you learn to release tension patterns. The strengthening reinforces the positive changes from the Tension Release Training. RST is a progressive step that occurs after you learn to release tension and increase your range of motion. Once you learn to release tight muscles and joints, the natural progression is to strengthen the muscles so the changes become more lasting.

TRY RooT Fx TAI CHI

RooT Fx Tai Chi follows the principles of the Yang style short form. All classes are taught by Michael Takatsuno who studied with Benjamin Lo in San Francisco.  Come and see what authentic tai chi is like and experience the older, more traditional ways of learning this ancient art form.
